This excursion is a must for a closer look at the secrets of traditional Cretan living, where you will explore the traditional tastes of Cretan nutrition.- A visit to a local bakery where we will have the chance to get a closer look at how Cretan traditional savories (rusks, bread, etc.) are made.
- A visit to an olive grove where we will examine the olive trees and learn how Cretan honey is made.
- A visit to a traditional, multi-award-winning cheese factory. If it is not the cheese-making period, we will be able to enter; otherwise, our guide will tell you everything about the cheese-making procedure before our superior tasting experience.

Get ready for a superb gastronomical experience as you will have the chance to taste a traditional platter with olive oil, tomatoes, olives, cheese, honey, and more. These will provide you with a first-class experience of Cretan nature.
In the village of Ano Vouves, you can admire the oldest recorded olive tree in the world, proclaimed as a natural monument. Although scientists cannot be absolutely sure, its age is estimated between 3000 and 5000 years and it still remains alive, fruiting until today. It began as a wild olive tree, and then became domesticated by humans via the Tsounati variety. Its trunk, chiseled by time like a sculpture, has a circumference of 12.5 meters and a diameter of 4.6 meters.
Pnevmatikakis Winery is a family-run winery in Kissamos, with many years of experience, expertise, and extensive presence and contribution in Cretan winemaking. You will have the chance to learn amazing things about the winemaking tradition of Crete. Moreover, you will taste many varieties of locally made and awarded wine from the collection of the winery, along with local delicacies that accompany these amazing spirits. Keep in mind that as the winery is open for families, kids are served with a special platter and drinks, selectively crafted by the winery family!
After departing from Pnevmatikakis Winery, we will visit a nearby beach to complement such a full and wonderful day.
